In a pulsating encounter that will undoubtedly be etched into the memories of football fans for years to come, the office and warehouse battled it out with a 1-1 draw.

The match showcased everything that makes football the beautiful game – drama, skill, and a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish.

From the first whistle, both teams displayed their attacking intent, setting the stage for an action-packed contest. It didn’t take long for the home side to make their presence felt, with Potter (EP5) finding the back of the net in the early stages, sending the home fans into a frenzy.

It all started with the veteran Stobbart, who played a composed pass to the captain, Higgins who took the ball and dribbled it down the sideline, past his opponent, then cut it back to EP5 who slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

The beautifully crafted team goal was polished off with a celebration to match. The goal scorer lifted his jersey over his head running half the length of the pitch to celebrate with his team.

Warehouse responded soon after capitalising on a defensive lapse to level the score. Midfield maestro, Smart pulled away from his defender to receive the ball and slot it near post past Boswell in goal. The composed finish was met with a roar from the away teams spectators.

As the game progressed, the intensity increased, with end-to-end action and chances galore. The warehouse attack orchestrated several dangerous moves which tested the resilience of the opposition defence.

50-50 tackle

Both teams continued to battle it out right up to the half-time whistle. Once they rehydrated and received their tactical instructions from their respective management teams, they were ready and roaring to go again!

The office looked the sharper team after the break, with Boswell forcing a save from Napier in goal. However, the momentum soon changed with the warehouse boasting an attacking threat. Their quick movement off the ball proved great difficulty for the home team, which eventually led to them conceding big chances.

The woodwork came to the rescue for the office as Elliot tipped it onto the bar following a long shot from the warehouse’s no.9. The shot was well judged by the goalkeeper who extended his reach to divert the ball onto the bar and away for a corner.

In the dying minutes of the game, with tensions running high, the warehouse team won a freekick just outside the 18-yard box. The pressure was looming, the pitch fell quiet as Smart ran up to the ball and finessed a shot with the inside of his foot…

The office goalkeeper was rooted to the spot and could only watch on helplessly as the ball approached. It flew narrowly over the bar and out for a goal kick. The home team could breathe again.
