John ties the knot!

John ties the knot!

For most, this bank holiday weekend bought unwanted thunder storms and humidity beyond belief but for one lucky fella, our very own John Morris (Business Development for the South), it was his weekend to tie the knot!

John Morris and (the now) Becky Morris tied the knot Sunday 27th May in a beautiful woodland village that was exclusively theirs for the day and night, where they made forever memories with family and friends.

When John got back into the office we asked him if he’d mind sharing some of the details about the wedding and here it is…

How did you arrive at the venue?

I actually drove myself. My best man had been quite ill in the run up to the event and on the day and sadly couldn’t make it, so my ride changed last minute.

What was the first thing you said when you saw your bride at the bottom of the aisle?

“You look stunning by the way. Are you even in that dress?” – Yes that happened…

Probably the most important question, what was served for dinner?

So, we had a spicy tomato soup to start. Followed by Chicken breast wrapped in pancetta with piped mash and vegetables. And Dessert was some sort of exotic cheesecake *asks what the fruit is with a “grey shell and yellowy / orangey pips in the middle”?*

  • That sounds like passionfruit to us John, and we want some!

(Sorry, it was apparently too tasty for millennial’s to take pictures of it “for the gram” before eating!)

What was your first dance song?

Etta James – At Last

How was the weather for you?

We were so lucky! It was glorious all day. Some of the guests said they had an awful journey to the wedding with all the storms but it appeared The Woodlands had its own microclimate which was really great to us.

Where did you stay that night?

In the treehouse on-site. All the guests stayed in timber chalets and we had the treehouse. It was a really lovely, secluded place in the middle of the woods.

What was the most embarrassing part of the night?

I couldn’t possibly kiss and tell but I did wake up to a video of me dancing away on the dance floor with a pair sunglasses and baby’s hat on (I don’t know what baby), so I’d say that was pretty embarrassing?

And finally, how does it feel to be a married man?

It’s tiring from carrying the ball and chain around. Only joking, it’s so exciting, I feel like such a grown up and I look forward to our happy marriage together.

We’d like to wish John & Becky a long and prosperous life together and a huge thank you for letting us be a part of your big day.

Congratulations from the entire team x
